FAQ for AeroTech Evolution

FAQ  FOR AEROTECH EVOLUTION

I am looking for a bicycle bag that can be checked on an airplane. The maximum size that the airline will accept is (L+W+D)<203cm. Do any of your cases fit this criteria?

R: Aerotech is the best case for air transportation. The measurements are: L 114cm x D 36cm x H 94cm. The weight is 11.5kg / 400oz. Your bike will be 100% inside this hard case! This item is now available and you can order it through our e-store: www.e-sciconbags.com

Can the hard case take a soft tail 29er MTB bike?

R: yes, the Aerotech can fit the MTB with 29” wheels, the only recommendation is to deflate the wheels before putting them in the case.

What frame size does your Aerotech Bike case fit too?

R: Aerotech fits frame up to 62cm (24”frame) You can also put bikes with seat extension frame (max 84cm),  you just have to remove the saddle and turn the frame of 180° as shown in the picture as shown on page 5 of the catalogue.

How about 25” and 26”frame?

R : Aerotech Evolution can fit frames up to 64cm = 25″- for oversize frame you have to move on a soft bag case, such as TP053 Aerocomfort Plus, but this is not the recommended case for flight transportation. Aerotech is the best hard case on the market, it’s very resistant and I can assure you that we never heard about damaged bikes during transportation.

How can I pack the bike inside the case?

R: Check the video on sciconbags.com that shows how to put the bike inside the case.

If the locks or wheels get damaged during transportation what shall I do?

R: We can supply you with spare parts (wheels and locks) if they get damaged. These parts are very easy to change.

I have the Aerotech Evolution; anybody know how to change the combination on locks?

R: Here who to do it:

 1. Setting your individual combination.

1.1 The original Code is “0-0-0-“….
1.2 Setting your individual combination the lock need to be in the opened position.
1.3 Use a pointed item (i.e. a pen) to push the coder against the spring pressure first to the left, then downwards until the coder snaps (see photo).
1.4 Turn the dials to the combination you wish to use.
1.5 Using a pointed item again turn the coder back to its original position.
1.6 You have now set a code the will allow opening the lock any time.

2. Open and Locking

2.1 Both for locking and opening the drawbolt the dials must be turned to the individually set code. The dials have a built-in “zero-stop”. This feature enables you to set your combination even in the dark. From this “zero-stop” you can feel and count your code upwards one by one.

Locks are intended only to prevent accidental opening and cannot necessarily prevent theft of Aerotech Evolution or its contents.

Warning ! Before set up a new combination of the locks, remember to take note about the code numbers. If you lose, it will be necessary to break the locks. You can have this as a spare part (no warranty) contacting SCI’CON customer service mentioning : 4 Locks kit (2 combi lock) + screws.
